Hey everyone, welcome to Wishlist After Dark, where a smart speaker just got a kid-sized makeover! I've got the woman who reads every review, Penny Pickwell, and the brightest smile in the armchair, Sunny! Thanks, Marty. I read the fine print so nobody else has to. Hi everyone! I'm so happy to be here, and oh, this one's adorable. Folks, it's the Amazon Echo Pop Kids, a kid-designed take on Amazon's compact Echo Pop smart speaker.

The perfect gift for kids three and up who want their own bedroom speaker! Marty, look at that design! A dog in headphones, just sitting there on the shelf. But wait, there's more! It plays audiobooks and helps with bedtime routines. Sunny, paint me the picture at home. Okay, a little one all tucked in, an audiobook playing from their very own speaker. Bedtime turns into the best part of the day. And parents, you stay in charge, because it comes with parental controls!

Which gets me to the fine print, Marty. What buyers mention: it's a smart speaker, so a parent has to do the setup and pick the parental-control settings. So Penny, who should skip it? Families who don't want a smart speaker in the bedroom, and anyone shopping for a kid under three. It's ages three and up, and the grown-up homework comes before the wrapping paper. Fair enough! So what are people saying?

Honestly? They really like it. 4.7 stars from 5,752 Amazon buyers. That's a whole lot of happy bedrooms! Scorecard time! I'm going eight point eight, because bedtime just got a sidekick. Sunny? Eight point four from me! Audiobooks plus that dog design? Sweet combo. I'm the tough one at an even eight, since a grown-up does the setup. That puts the After Dark Score at eight point four out of ten, number two of the two gadgets on our board, right behind the AirTag, and a buy for parents of kids three and up.

Thanks to the Amazon listing and all those buyers! Folks, the link's on our site and in the description. See you next time!
