Folks, stop everything! Welcome to Wishlist After Dark, I'm Marty, and it's the Kinetic Sand Mermaid Palace Playset, the perfect gift for kids who love sensory, hands-on play! With me, the bird who reads every review, Penny Pickwell, and our happiest golden retriever, Sunny! Every single one, so you don't have to. Hi, everyone! A mermaid palace? I'm so happy already! So what is it? It's a play sand set with a mermaid palace theme: colored sand, tools and a folding sandbox to play in!

Wait, Marty, the sandbox folds? So kids aren't just getting sand, they're getting the place to play with it! You got it! But wait, there's more. Put up the colors, all three! Neon Purple, Shimmer Teal and Beach! Oh, I want one! I can already see the wrapping paper flying. You're killing me! Penny, tell me people love it? They do, Marty. 4.7 out of 5 stars from 5,206 ratings on Amazon, and buyers praise easy cleanup.

Easy cleanup! Penny, that's a gift for the grown-ups too! Cute. Now the catch. Buyers split on the amount of sand, and some are disappointed. Hold on, disappointed? How much sand are we talking? 2.06 pounds. Some find it plenty, others wanted more. So check that number, and the age range on the listing. But look at that built scene! So who should skip it? Kids who want a giant sand pile, Sunny. For sensory play fans, it's a buy.

Our After Dark Score is eight point two out of ten, outside the top eight on our toys board. A buy, folks! Go make some kid's whole birthday! The link's on our site and in the description. See you next time!
