Folks, welcome to Wishlist After Dark, because I've got birds! It's Wingspan by Stonemaier Games, a bird-collecting board game, the perfect gift for families and bird lovers! With me, it's Sunny, pure joy on a couch, and Penny Pickwell, reader of every review. Tell me you love this! Oh, Marty, I can already see the paper coming off this box! I'm here for the fine print. Though, fine, those speckled eggs did catch my eye.

Here's the maker's page! Elizabeth Hargrave designed it, folks, and it's engine-building. Sunny, what's that mean? Your birds team up, so your turns keep getting stronger. And there are 170 unique bird cards! Wait, 170, and they're all different? Here's the box! It's got 103 food tokens and 75 egg miniatures, Marty. But wait, there's more! Five custom wooden dice and a birdfeeder dice tower! Oh, I want one!

And Penny, it even plays solo, with its own cards. True, one to five players. The catch, Sunny? It's medium-weight strategy, forty to seventy minutes, so you'll do more thinking than at a party game. Penny, surely nobody complains? What are buyers saying? We couldn't confirm their top complaints or the star rating, so check the listing. Check the age range for kids, too. But Penny, one reader on the maker's site counted at least 875 games on old score sheets!

One devoted reader, Sunny. Still, the maker says it won the 2019 Kennerspiel des Jahres, a big German prize. I say eight point nine, Sunny says eight point five. Penny, your number? Seven point nine. The After Dark Score is eight point four out of ten, number two of three on our games board. It's a buy for strategy-loving families and bird lovers. Sold! The link's on our site and in the description.

See you next time!
